This is the official installation guide for Project Japan (PJ).

The target audience are people who are installing an ETS2 Mod for the first time.
If you belong to the target audience, please read this guide from start to finish.
Any parts marked inred<\/mark><\/strong>are especially important, so please read them carefully.
You can navigate using the table of contents to go to a specific topic directly.

You need to be familiar with your file explorer and should be able to move files, create new folders etc. \nWe will not explain how to do those things in this guide.
Please google those things for yourself.

Checking your game version and necessary DLCs, Download of PJ<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Firstly, check if all required DLCs are present. Click the \"DLC browser\" in the main menu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Change the filter to \"Map\" to show all of your Map DLCs.

Next, check your ETS2 game version.
For this, launch ETS2 and check the number that is written on the bottom right of the screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the above picture, the game version is 1.50.2.3s.
The first three numbers denote the major version of the game. In this case, that would be 1.50.
The other numbers are denoting minor versions, and do not matter as much for compatibility of this map mod.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For example,ETS2\u30d0\u30fc\u30b8\u30e7\u30f3\u304c1.52\u3067PJ\u304c1.50\u306e\u5834\u5408\u3001\u6709\u52b9\u5316\u3067\u304d\u305a\u306b\u52d5\u4f5c\u3057\u307e\u305b\u3093\u3002<\/mark><\/strong>
Thus, you need to make sure you have the matching version for your game.
In Steam, you can use a previous game version to match this mod, for example right after a new update launched and PJ is not yet updated.

Once you have found your game version, download the appropriate version of the PJ from our homepage.
For that, select the \"Download\" tab on our homepage, and click on the appropriate version of the Mod.
On the download page you can find an overview about each version and it's compatibility,so please read this part carefully.<\/strong>It contains a lot of useful information!
Once you confirmed that you have the right version of the mod, click on the Link shown there to start the downloading process.

We use the website ShareMods to host our files.
This is a reliable mod site that has been operating for a long time, and is used very often for ETS2 mods, as well as mods for other games.
It does have a lot of ads, but in turn offers free hosting for us, which is very useful considering our mod is quite large in size.

Once you have downloaded the two separate archives from ShareMods, it is necessary to combine them.

The files contained in MAIN_MOD are the mod files required for the mod to work.Without ALL of these files, PJ will not run.<\/mark><\/strong>

The ADD-ON_MOD folder contains additional mods that include optional files, such as accessories. PJ will work without these files.

This mod includes an accessory for use inside of the truck cabin.
You can select it in the interior customization tab.

This mod changes the companies present in the game to real Japanese companies. It further adds to the Japanese feeling. We_ recommend<\/mark><\/strong>_using this mod, as it increases immersion.

The TEXT folder includes a short guide \/ manual. The english version is named READ_ME.txt.

Placing the mod files<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

After successfully extracting the files, next we move them to the ETS2 mod directory.

By default, this directory is placed under your Documents folder.
Thus, the standard path will look like this: C:\/Users\/XXXX\/Documents\/Euro Truck Simulator 2\/mod
There is another Euro Truck Simulator 2 folder in the Steam library directory, but donot copy any files over there.<\/mark><\/strong>
